My art has been a long work in progress, and the bulk of the work featured began as a way for me to practice my skills when I was learning to be a designer and illustrator. I loathed using Adobe Illustrator when I first started to make designs. I could not stand working with vectors, math, and shapes rather than painting and drawing. As a way to get myself to understand the program and love what I do, I made a fanart poster of a video game. I was always obsessed with the posters I saw from the Works Progress Administration and wanted to see if I could replicate the style using the application. It was long, frustrating, and tedious, and I wasn't too proud of the final result, but I finally started to understand the reason why designers loved this program so much. I decided to make another poster. And another. I've now made 28 posters all around various video game travel locations over 10 years. While there are so many life events and my full time job as an art teacher that may slow the progress of making these posters, I still find that a comfort of mine and a way to sharpen my skills always comes back to making posters and prints. It's a hobby that many people seem to enjoy seeing, and one that I love to make in my free time.
