Welcome! I’m Ali, and this is 9000things: the tangible manifestation of a million different ideas, projects and products swimming through my head.

I started the brand as a way to get these ideas out into the world and into the hands of people who enjoy awesome, sometimes bizarre, handmade goods. My hope is to create beautiful things which inspire and delight, and to encourage people to be colorful and expressive in their wardrobe, accessories and homes.

Everything I make has a story. My debut product, and still one of the most unique and popular items is the 'Ringgg.' The Ringgg collection is made out of salvaged industrial waste from recycle centers, in particular, coiled telephone cords. In an increasingly wireless world, sad and forgotten phone cords slowly make their way from offices to the waste stream and though thousands of tons of wires are separated and melted down, the process isn't very efficient for these cords.

My response is this new design: a simple finger accessory which poses as a tiny interactive sculpture, stress toy and conversation piece. There’s a surprisingly beautiful hidden world when you dissect the insides of our bland-looking electronics.

The products in the 9000things shop have a great message. We recycle (upcycle) salvaged materials, use earth-friendly alternatives and support other small businesses by sourcing our supplies locally. I just love the act of creating, the challenge of inventing things that no one has ever seen before, and I embrace the task of doing so in an environmentally responsible way. Enjoy!
