SOLIDVINTAGE

Whittier, CA 570 Sales

SolidVintage is run solely by me, Diandra, the woman behind all the clothes with a passion for Vintage. Established in December 2013 and located right in the heart of Whittier, California; only 20 minutes from downtown Los Angeles. I carefully and personally select each item and lovingly package each item purchased. With every purchase I also make sure to write a personal note to express my gratitude towards the customer.

I am a thrill seeker and the thrill of finding one-of-a-kind treasures at the thrift store keeps me on the hunt for amazing items to share with others. You’d be amazed at the things people give away. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, right? Everything I pick comes from the heart of an old-fashioned girl that thinks every item should be well made and that styles of the past should be preserved.

Thrifting has been ingrained at me from my youth, and because of my passion for it I had a tendency to accumulate. In the past, I would donate everything I bought but didn’t put to use. This time I figured that a few bucks wouldn’t hurt, so I decided to have a yard sale. My attempt failed when I was told I couldn’t, so I decided to put everything online at a second attempt to gain some money. Once I did that, everything sold and I was making more money than I ever thought I could. Maybe my taste in fashion wasn’t all that bad. The door that closed the first time was actually a blessing because the second door brought way more rewards. I was also looking for some easy cash to support some friends that were out on the mission field; Sean who is in the slums of India and Amy who is in Oregon holding bible studies at a local university. You can find Sean at OrdinaryLiving.com and Amy at Navigators.org. I was donating 20% of all my proceeds to them in response to my thankfulness to such booming business. Keeping up with 20% was a bit much so I lowered it to 10%. The past couple months I’ve been trying to save as much as I could so I haven’t been able to donate, but I plan on continuing to donate to them or any other charity that I see fit.

My shop first began through much promotion via Instagram, which has allowed me to have more contact with my customers and form lifelong friendships which have also been a blessing to me. Although what I do can be tedious work at times, especially since I am the only one working, I try my best to keep my prices low enough for anyone to purchase from me. In addition to thrifted clothes, I plan on working towards expanding my inventory with handmade Vintage reproductions and paintings done by myself. In a society where consumerism runs rampant, I think it’s amazing to be able to resell items and recycle rather than contributing to this vicious cycle of consumerism and support small businesses like all those that are a part of Storenvy.
