Dr. Raquel "Dr. Rocky" Dandy is a licensed clinical social worker who has dedicated her life to helping women who have experienced trauma and abuse. She creates an Independent Living Program and a therapeutic group for eight women who are trying to rebuild their lives. The women are all survivors of domestic violence, assault, and other traumatic experiences, and Dr. Rocky is determined to help them heal and move forward.
Dr. Rocky's brother-in-law, Dr. Kimathi Paul, is the psychiatrist for the program. Dr. Rocky trusts him completely and believes he is a valuable asset to the team. However, she soon discovers that Dr. Paul is not only having inappropriate relationships with two of the clients, but he is also secretly physically, mentally, and emotionally abusing Dr. Rocky's sister, Monica.
Dr. Rocky is faced with a difficult decision. She wants to protect the success of the program she created and the women she is helping, but she also made a promise to her mother to always take care of her sister and be her sister's keeper. As Dr. Rocky tries to navigate this situation, she finds herself becoming increasingly isolated and alone. She must decide whether to speak out and risk everything she has worked for or to stay silent and let the abuse continue.
As the tension builds, Dr. Rocky finds herself drawn into a dangerous game of cat and mouse with Dr. Paul. She must use all of her skills and knowledge to protect herself and the women in her program. Along the way, she discovers inner strength and resilience she never knew she had.
The My Sister's Keeper Circle is a gripping novel about the bonds of family, the lengths we'll go to protect those we love, and the difficult choices we sometimes have to make. It explores the complex issues of power, control, abuse and the importance of standing up for what is right, no matter the cost. It's a powerful story that will keep readers guessing and on the edge of their seats until the very end.
