Senders “Recovery” 7" (Kiss of Death)

The follow up to their debut split 7" with Wavelets, Senders are back with a short record all their own. Pioneering the "Stoner - emo" genre this foursome from Gainesville, Florida bring heavy riffs with a heaping helping of melody ala Hum. Side A features "Cuffed" mid tempo head bobber that comes complete with epic build ups and complimentary distorted/non distorted vocal approach. Side b's "Near Freeport" chugs along with fearsome palm muting and soaring octave work and clever noodling on the guitars. This Stuff is loud and aggresive, but Senders have quickly become master at knowing when to take things down a notch. The quiet parts are destructive (with up to ten guitar tracks on each of these songs) Get ready to cross your arms and nod your head like it;s 1998 when you put this one on.
