The Montgolfier Brothers "Seventeen Stars" LP

Went to order some Manicured Noise LP's from Caroline True Records and they sold me on this one they had just reissued. The word pastoral gets thrown around a lot with British folky stuff and fuck i've never been there, but i feel like i've rolled thru all its goddamn hills. It's from a completely different scene and much of this is very different....but some of this stuff is gentle in the way of Current 93 "Earth Covers Earth"....there is this sheen to it...a sort of possessed haze that takes over the musicians that i find congruent to a lot of neofolk stuff....beams of sunlight peering thru the gloom of clouds....tenement flats surrounding a field with one beautiful tree...Really happy to have stumbled across this one and to explore their work deeper.
