Vintage Hand carved Adinkra Symbols Decorative Wall Frame from Ghana. This is a Ghanaian decorative artistic wall hanging for your home. It has six beautifully crafted Adinkra art engraved in the center and the frame is made from sese wood. Adinkra are visual symbols, originally created by the Asante people of Ghana, that represent concepts or aphorisms. They are extensively used in fabrics and pottery and also incorporated into walls and other architectural features. Adinkra symbols do not only have a decorative function but also represent objects that express evocative messages that convey traditional wisdom, aspects of life or the environment. The names of the symbols together with their meanings are beautifully inscribed at the back of the frame. There is also a metallic loop hanger at the back of the frame for easy wall mounting.
