Genuine, hand-carved, wooden Zulu Bull Masks
The Story:
Ukweshwama is an annual bull-slaying ceremony in KwaZulu to celebrate the harvest. The bull is placed in a kraal with 40 Zulu warriors. These new and untested warriors are required to face the bull and kill it with their bare hands to demonstrate their courage. Upon the bull's death, its strength is transferred first to the warriors, and then to the Zulu king.
